Feeding

1. Meals should be given twice a day at regularly scheduled hours. Dry food can be left out.
2. Variety in diet is essential to the well-being of cats. Provide variety with table scraps, vegetables, canned and dried food, meats, fish and chicken removing all bones — even fine fish bones.
3. Canned food. Alwavs read the ash content on the label before purchasing: the lower the ash content, the better.
4. Dry food is excellent for keeping teeth clean, but should never be considered a complete diet for a cat.
5. Milk. If regular milk causes diarrhea, give the cat evaporated milk diluted with warm water, or no milk at all.
6. Water. Always keep a bowl of fresh water near the cat's feeding bowl.
7. Cold food is unappealing to most cats. Both food and milk should be served at room temperature. Refrigerated canned food should be warmed over hot water before feeding.
8. Egg whites are not recommended for cats.
